Community Partners
CORI has developed new partnerships with Los Angeles community-oriented organizations. Partnerships in the past have included:
- Celebrate Life Cancer Ministry, a non-profit 501(c)(3) faith-based cancer organization
- The NAACP
- United Methodist Men (Western Jurisdiction)
- California African American Museum (CAAM)
These partnerships further expand cancer outreach efforts throughout south Los Angeles. Community workshops are free and open to the public.
Community
CORI reaches out to medically-underserved communities, where there is often a lack of high quality cancer care. Collaborating with various community-based organizations, CORI hosts a series of free, educational events in the greater Los Angeles area. We believe that information about cancer, including prevention, and individualized cancer treatment should be readily-available and easily-accessible to everyone. CORI’s community outreach programs include:Educational workshops and cancer screening programs to underserved communities, including inner city churches, throughout the greater Los Angeles area.Cancer screening programs for breast, prostate and colorectal cancer.Partnerships with other cancer awareness organizations.
