  • CORI Research

CORI believes that when doctors and researchers work together, we can create innovative and effective treatments improving the chance for cure. We provide the opportunity for doctors to collaborate internationally, working with institutions in countries such as Israel and Serbia, to better understand less researched cancers. We recognize the value in personalized medicine, recognizing that every patient is unique in how they should be treated.

CORI looks to expand our partnerships as we look towards the future of cancer research and more effective treatments.

CORI supports education and research in the following cancers:
    • Colon
    • Pancreas and Liver
    • Melanoma
    • Breast Cancer
    • Prostate Cancer
    • Gynecologic malignancies (ovary, uterus, and cervix)

    Melanoma

    • Conduct an extensive 45-year review in anorectal malignant melanoma and propose a novel staging classification.
    • Evaluate whether there is an expanding role for hepatic resection and adrenalectomy in metastatic melanoma.

    Stomach

    • Evaluate whether surgical quality improves staging accuracy in gastric cancer.
    • Determine whether race influences stage-specific survival in gastric cancer.
    • Examine the impact of birthplace in Asian-Americans with gastric cancer.

    Gallbladder

    • Perform a prospective randomized controlled trial comparing standard analgesia with combined intra-operative cystic plate and port-site local anesthesia for post-operative pain management in patients undergoing a laparoscopic cholecystectomy.
