"I have found that among its other benefits, giving liberates the soul of the giver."
— Maya Angelou
Maryam Arabzada is an 8 year old who lives with her impoverished family in eastern Afghanistan.
She has had two operations for a cancer involving her face and eye. The operations have failed to stem the progression of her disease. She is now blind in both eyes and has severe pain. There is no chemotherapy, radiation, or further surgery available to her in Afghanistan.
Global Surgery Relief has organized a mission to transport Maryam to the All India Medical Sciences Institute (AIIMS) in New Delhi, India. The Head and Neck professors at AIIMS have agreed to accept her as a patient.
We have been working around the clock to ensure her timely arrival in India given the severe pain she is experiencing.
Any contribution is greatly appreciated and all donations are tax deductible (no funds will be used for overhead expenses).
We look forward to sharing updates on her care as we progress
