The California Oncology Research Institute (CORI) is committed to curing cancer
through innovative research, early detection, education, and novel treatments. At CORI,
we are dedicated to our patients and their needs, while providing a high-level of support.
The CORI vision revolves around the value of collaborative medicine which can be
tailored to each patients individual needs.
CORI is a unique cancer research organization with international collaboration. The
surgeons and scientists are considered global leaders and have National Cancer Institute
funded federal grants in both colon cancer and melanoma. The results of this research
have been published in prestigious journals such as Journal of Clinical Oncology,
Annals of Surgery, Archives of Surgery and Clinical Cancer Research. Members of
CORI have also been recognized for their work by invitations to present at national
meetings including the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American College of
Surgeons and the American Surgical Association and have been invited experts to CNN.
CORI also recognizes the needs of the underserved communities and to this end have
established collaborations with the Wellness community as well as the NAACP. CORI
members provide educational seminars on cancer prevention, early detection of cancer as
well as innovative treatments.
CORI members are regarded by there peers as experts in melanoma, colon cancer,
liver cancer, pancreas cancer, stomach cancer and breast cancer. Minimally invasive
procedures such as the sentinel node and laparoscopy are routinely performed.
Unnecessary lymph node dissections are avoided and laparoscopic colon and liver
resections are preferred which results in faster recovery.
