Breast Cancer Charities

Breast Cancer Awareness Month has gone a long ways to helping women become more aware of preventative care and being screened for breast cancer. It has also helped breast cancer charities such as the American cancer society, National Breast Cancer Foundation and the Susan G. Komen Cancer Foundation raise the money that funds breast cancer research and educate women about this deadly disease. There are many companies that choose to participate in this worthy and important event with everything from fundraisers to encouraging female workers to have mammograms done. With so many options there is something for even the smallest businesses to participate in, so if your business big or small wishes to promote breast cancer awareness and help out the multitude of breast cancer charities there are a number of ideas you may wish to consider.

Many large corporations have joined the fight for awareness and research by selling items with the signature pink ribbon or color of breast cancer charities. We have all seen the pink bottle caps on soda, milk and other items, by purchasing this item the corporation has agreed to donate a certain portion of the proceeds to breast cancer charities. If your business manufactures items you can also set up to donate a part of a certain sale to breast cancer, or if you purchase supplies or items for sale, make a point of buying "pink" whenever you can. Set up a fund raiser at your place of business, you can sell pink items that are sponsored by the various breast cancer charities or you can simply ask your employees to donate a portion of their check each week for breast cancer. Many companies hold events for their employees, whether it is health fairs or simple charity money raising events.

Hold the event during Breast Cancer Awareness Month and pass out pamphlets to your employees about breast cancer and the charities that fund the research. Use pink breast cancer awareness shirts and scarves as prizes. Large companies may consider corporate gifts to smaller breast cancer charities that are local in their area, often times hospitals and cancer centers have a huge wish list of items for their cancer patients. Other companies pay for their female employees mammograms providing them this important diagnostic tool at no charge. There are also a number of breast cancer charities that will sponsor free mammograms during Breast Cancer Awareness Month so be sure to check around your community. Whatever way your company chooses to acknowledge Breast Cancer Awareness Month it is always important to remember that every little bit counts, from buying pink products that support the breast cancer charities, to helping to educate the women in your community there is something that every business and person can do to further the cause to prevent and find a cure for breast cancer. The Corigroup is a research company that is dedicated to curing breast cancer thru early detection, education and finding new treatments as well as supporting breast cancer charities in their efforts to support research and education.
